How does CivicSummary handle testimony text?

Testimony text is used only long enough to generate a summary. It is not stored in our database. After processing, the raw text is discarded and any temporary logs are routinely purged.

The only persistent data we maintain is basic account and billing information needed to operate the service.

What information do you keep?

  • Credit balances and credit usage counts.
  • Purchase and billing metadata (credit pack purchased, amount, timestamp).

Are credit purchases refundable?

Credit purchases are for a digital service and are generally non-refundable once completed. Credits have no cash value outside the application.

If you believe a billing error occurred—such as a duplicate charge or unauthorized payment—contact support@civic-summary.com within 14 days and we will review the issue.

Does CivicSummary use subscriptions?

No. Credits are sold only as one-time purchases. You may stop using the service at any time, and unused credits remain available while your account is active. Credits are not refundable and do not carry monetary value.

What happens if I file a chargeback with my card issuer?

If a chargeback is opened, access to your account and remaining credits may be paused while the dispute is reviewed. We encourage contacting us first so we can resolve the concern directly.

What are the usage rules?

CivicSummary is intended for lawful civic, legislative, academic, and research-related use. Users must ensure that any transcripts they submit may be processed under their applicable privacy or public-records laws.

The service may not be used for fraud, scams, harassment, or any illegal or abusive purpose. Accounts violating these rules may be suspended or terminated.

Do promotional or bonus credits work differently?

  • Promotional credits have no monetary value and are non-refundable.
